I’m Thomas Olsen, a passionate photographer with over 30 years of experience capturing the beauty and essence of life through my lens. Based in South Yarra, Victoria, I specialise in three distinct areas of photography: commercial projects, pets and lifestyle.

My Journey:

I grew up in Collingwood, Victoria, surrounded by creativity from an early age. My mother was an accomplished artist, and my father was an industrial designer and a member of the influential Melbourne Group M, known for its innovative approach to photography. His involvement exposed me early on to new ideas and experimental techniques in the visual arts. He later went on to become Curator of Exhibitions at the National Gallery of Australia, further deepening the creative atmosphere I was fortunate to grow up in.

This rich artistic environment shaped my perspective and ignited my passion for photography. My journey has taken me from local shoots in South Yarra to global adventures, always with the goal of creating images that resonate deeply and authentically. I’ve had the privilege of working alongside esteemed photographers such as Simon Upton, a renowned figure in fashion and lifestyle photography. His expertise and innovative approach have further enriched my skills and perspective, allowing me to bring a refined artistic eye to my work.

My Philosophy:

Every photograph is a reflection of a moment in time, a story told through light, composition, and emotion. My work is driven by a desire to connect with my subjects and convey their unique narratives with authenticity and artistry. Whether working on a local pet session, commercial or a global lifestyle shoot, I bring a warm, creative flair to every project.
